[Event] A most heinous act of villainy and massacre

2020.08.11 15:43 Iceblade02 [Event] A most heinous act of villainy and massacre

As the day wore on, it became apparent that what was thought to be a prelude to a war was not. It was a heinous act of horrible massacre, yet only that. Not even the Stockholm Bloodbath over five hundred years ago, had been as bloody as this. Almost three and a half hours had gone before the all-clear signal - a ninety second long steady tone - was sounded across the country, yet even so, the army remained on high alert.

One hundred and thirty-seven members of parliament had been brutally murdered, along with many more in the service staff as well as many wounded. Among the wounded was the Gösta Bagge - the Prime Minister and the grandson of the King, Prince Gustaf Adolf.
The Prince had drawn his service weapon, being the only member of parliament permitted to carry one as a member of the Royal Household, Minister of Defence and Major within the Army. He personally had shot dead three of the attackers, taking a bullet to his shoulder in the process. For his bravery, he would be rewarded the Royal Order of the Seraphim by the King himself in the hospital, and would reach become a national hero in the eyes of the people.

The day had not yet come to an end when the gunmen had been tied to the Pan-Aryan league by the Third Branch of the State Police - something that would spark a massive outrage not only from the public, but also the Royal Family. The connection between them and the Pan-German League, an organization sponsored by the German State had been established long ago, and was no secret.
With a majority of the Riksdag out of action as well as the Prime Minister being wounded, and vice killed, the King and the Supreme Commander had taken it upon themselves to restore order. The representatives who had escaped the massacre unscathed - either through sheer luck, or having been somewhere else were all assembled in the courtyard of the royal castle.
Three motions were proposed and passed, right in that courtyard by unanimous assent from the assembled representatives, even those from the Social Democratic Party.

As the evening was drawing near, the King himself made a speech to the Swedish People over radio, only the second time that this happened in Swedish History.

(In English)
"My fellow Swedes, I have just concluded a meeting with the National Police Chief and the Commander-in-Chief about this morning's attack. First of all, I want to say that my and the royal family's thoughts go to the victims of this heinous act. Those killed are not only our fellow people, but also our representatives."
"We also think of their families and friends, we feel for them in their grief and worry. We are all shaken by what has happened. At the same time, it is hopeful to see the care that our people show for each other and it shows this immense force in our society. Those of us who want to help are many, many more than those who want to hurt us. That knowledge gives me comfort and confidence. "
"The army, police, medical and rescue services have done their very best to minimize the harm. Now it is imperative that they be able to continue their work in peace and quiet. Sweden is, has been and will continue to be a safe and peaceful country."
"It is also for this reason that I havetasked the government with demanding redress from the German state and their accomplices for this horrible deed against the Swedish people. This day will be felt forever in our hearts and the least we can do is give those who have perished justice. "

With domestic affairs being taken care of, the eyes of the Swedish People turned with sudden hatred towards the Germans across the sea, those who for so long had pretended to be friends of the Swedish People, only to violate one of their most sacred institutions in the most bloody massacre to have ever occurred in the country...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibiza_affair

2) George Papadopoulos

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-48335316
Operasjonene var ikke billige. Strache-aksjonen ble beregnet til rundt 600,000 euro:
https://ananova.news/lawyer-connected-to-spo-linked-to-people-behind-ibizagate-video/
“civil society-driven project in which investigative-journalistic approaches were taken”

2019.12.24 00:09 jxstanormalkid A Guide to 2010's danish Hip Hop scene

Like in the US, hip hop took over as the most popular music genre in the country in Denmark this decade. Danish rappers have always pulled a lot of inspiration from the american scene such as West Coast and Crunk instrumentals. In the 2010s, they continued to do so, but the american scene wasn't the number one inspiration, since French, British and Spanish music really was easy to find in most of the big danish acts. We have a huge hip hop scene and people who are not ethnic danish have made it really big in the mainstream and here is a guide to their music.
Molo (Short for Molotov Movement for the record)
The biggest artists in Denmark for the past couple of years have been Molo, which is a group consisting of Gilli, Benny Jamz, Branco and Stepz (Branco and Stepz have always made music together in their duo, MellemFingaMuzik). Before Molo, Gilli and Benny Jamz were in the same collective B.O.C, which they still are apart of, though B.O.C have not made music together as a collective for a couple of years now. Still, their other members, such as KESI and Noah Carter are still heavyweights in the game, making solo music and often featuring on each others music.
Most of Molo's lyrics are about drug dealing, flexing and the ghetto, whenever they make music together, but as individuals they also touch other subjects in their solo music. In the summer of 2018, they dropped their album M.O.L.O., which is actually a dope album, with no attemps to make radio hits and it's just hard hitting street rap. Their singles though, are big trap bangers for the most, which often has a hook from Gilli (who is the biggest solo name in Denmark hands down)
Suggestions:
Skejsen (Skejs is an old danish term for money)
Bølgen (The Wave)
the beat on this one is sooo fire, and can even be found on YouTube, as a Drake x Tory Lanez type beat
Rolig (Easy or Calm Down)
whether this is Gilli song or a Molo song is not known (since there is no Benny Jamz verse, and instead features another rapper, Sivas). This song has never been released so it's technically a leak, but it still became a hit, in the streets at least. Danish hip hop has had huge problems with leaks during this decade, and many potential has gone lost due to leaks. Molo, even had a whole album, Les Sabotages, which might have been scrapped due to leaks. Still, Rolig, is probably my personal favorite Molo song, due to it's lyrics being deeper and it actually has a good message connected to it.
Gilli
As previously mentioned, Gilli, is the biggest name in danish hip hop, and he has been for the past couple of years. His career began with B.O.C back in 2010-11-ish. They started by making Grime music, similar to the English Grime music and has dropped a few Grime classics around this time. In 2014, he had the lead role in the movie, Ækte Vare (The Real Deal/Thing), which is directed Fenar Ahmad, who is a young talented movie director and also very close friends with Molo and Gilli. Ækte Vare tells the story of Gilli's come up in the game similar to 8 Mile and Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. To supply Ækte Vare, Gilli released an 8-track-EP, under the same name which has gotten somewhat classic status in Denmark. On Ækte Vare, Gilli and his producers (Benny Jamz and Jens Ole McCoy at the time) had evolved from the Grime sound, into a more autotune filled universe, but still with hard beats and great technical raps.
Grime suggestion:
Fissehul (with KESI)
Fissehul literally means Pussy Hole and was both Gilli and KESI's first song that created some buzz, they were around 17-18 years old when this was made. This was produced by Benny Jamz, who was a great Grime producer, but nowadays he mostly focuses on his solo rapping career, more than producing, though from time to time produces some heat.
Best songs from Ækte Vare:
Knokler Hårdt ("knokle" means to work very hard, so it basically means, Going Hard In or something similar)
Probably Gilli's best song according to many. It has a fantastic beat produced by Jens Ole McCoy, and Gilli exhibits great flows in the verses and delivers great lyrical work. Though it's a fast rapping track, most people know the lyrics to this song, and has become one of the most iconic rap songs from this decade to the younger generation.
Penge Kommer Går (Money Comes And Goes)
Another Jens Ole beat, and Gilli again has some of his memorable lyrics and flows on this track.
Ung Entreprenør (ft. MellemFingaMuzik) (Young Entrepreneur)
One of the hardest, most grimy danish songs you'll ever find, and MellemFingaMuzik comes in with a dangerous feature.
In the summer 2019, Gilli released his technical debut album, Kiko, after 5 years of waiting, but he still consistently released music throughout this time, and his name just got bigger and bigger. From 2015-2019, he changed his (and the entire scenes) sound a couple of times, released a ton of singles, and had a lot of songs leaked (which may be the reason why no album was released)
In 2015, he released Orale (chicano word for hell yeah, but it has no real meaning, but is used a lot in speaking language), a song which built on his sound from Ækte Vare, but with more of a mainstream trap touch to it. He also released C'est La Vie (french for That's Life), which features MellemFingaMuzik, and a whole new sound, which would dominate danish hip hop, for years to come. The Afrotrap sound, which formerly was huge in France and southern regions of Europe and often features a spanish guitar on the instrumental. Gilli had the biggest Afrotrap songs in Denmark, and notable producers who made popular Afrotrap beats are Kewan Padre and Hennedub(who has tried to make it big in America these past couple of years.
The Afrotrap sound is easy to recognize to due it's tropical instrumentation, song structure, and lyrics about how tough a life on the streets can be.
Afrotrap Gilli classics:
C'est La Vie (ft. MellemFingaMuzik)
Tidligt Op (Early Up, as in waking early up in the morning. The Hook goes "Late to bed and early up")
Habibi Aiwa (Hold On, My Dear in Arabic iirc)
Rica (ft. KESI & Sivas)
Spanish for hot girl, Rica is more of a spanish inspired afrotrap song, and was a huge summer hit.
Langsom (Slow in danish)
During this time, Gilli had a lot of songs leaked, and some of them even became moderate hits. He announced an album back in 2016, but only dropped singles for around 3 years afterwards. This was due to leaks, but also the fact that danish rappers would gain more streams for only releasing a single, than an whole album, because the scene weren't big enough at the time. That changed in 2019 however were pretty much every single rapper released an album. Also Gilli of course. He dropped the album, Kiko, and he has announced an album with Branco from MellemFingaMuzik dropping in January, called Euro Connection. They have already released a couple of singles together in 2019. Nicki Pooyandeh produced almost the entire Kiko album, and has produced pretty much everything the Molo members have been releasing for the past two years now.
Best songs from Kiko (Kiko is a spanish name, but also the spanish version of the danish Kian, which is Gilli's birth name)
Vai Amor (You can't really translate Vai Amor into english, but it's portuguese and means something similar to Go Love)
The biggest summer hit in Denmark in 2019 by a mile. You could literally go nowhere without this song being played everywhere. It's a Baile Funk inspired song, a sound that was all over Kiko. Baile Funk is a Brazilian hip hop sub-genre, and Gilli even went to Rio to shoot the video.
Culo (ft. Branco) (Culo is Spanish for Booty)
Another Baile Funk anthem, that was huge this summer. Also features elements of EDM, which danish rappers have expiremented with since the start of 2018.
Lyca (ft. KESI) (Taken from the British Mobile Networking Company, Lyca Mobile)
Dag 1 (Day 1)
Recommended singles with Branco from 2019
London Town
This song has become a huuuge hit in the past couple of months, and to be honest, it's a fucking banger.
All In
KESI
Also a member of B.O.C, KESI started out as a young Grime artist. These days, he is closest thing to Drake that Denmark has. He is not nearly as street as Gilli or Branco is, but he is very versatile, can both rap and sing, cover multiple subjects and is very charismatic. He was also the first from B.O.C to get mainstream attention back in 2012. He has two albums, the Grime debut album from 2012, Bomber Over Centrum (means Bombs Over The Centre as is what B.O.C is short for), mostly produced by Benny Jamz, and Barn Af Byen (Child of The City) from 2015, mostly produced by Jens Ole McCoy. After his two albums, he started releasing singles regularly like everybody else, and most of his biggest hits, spawned from here.
Suggestions from Bomber Over Centrum
Født I Dag (ft. Benny Jamz) (Born Today) GREAT VIDEO!
Gadehjørne (ft. Gilli & StreetMass) (Street Corner) ALSO A GREAT VIDEO + GREAT PRODUCTION!
Bomber Over Centrum (ft. B.O.C)
Features every single B.O.C member, including a CTK (now known as Noah Carter), who was in prison at the time. Now he's out and actually making music in english.
Suggestions from Barn Af Byen:
Søvnløs (Sleepless)
Dumme Penge (Stupid Money)
These songs aren't really that good tbh, but were huge hits back in 2014-15. Has a Mustard feel on the production.
Kesi's best singles (these are mostly produced by Hennedub):
Mamacita (ft. Benny Jamz)
Op (ft. Benny Jamz & Gilli) (Up)
This song is a fucking banger, and features a great video which was shot in New York
Kom Over (Come Over)
More of a pop tune, but still has a good vibe
Ekstra (Extra)
Su Casa (ft. Gilli) (Mi Casa es Su Casa in spanish -> My House is Your House in English)
Lav Lav (ft. Benny Jamz, MellemFingaMuzik) (Make Make)
This song leaked and was never really released, but it's fucking fire, and contains a great verse from Benny Jamz.
In 2019, KESI didn't release an album like everybody else, however he released an EP, 888,entirely produced by Hennedub
Best songs from 888
Ik' Sådan Der (ft. Benny Jamz) (Not Like That)
BDK (ft. Gilli) (it's unknown what BDK stands for and what it exactly means)
MellemFingaMuzik (MiddleFingerMusic) - Branco and Stepz
These guys started out back in around 2013-14, releasing their self-titled EP. Back then, they weren't really big, and were mostly played in more rough neighborhoods. Branco and Stepz are both former criminals, and their music has always been heavily influenced by their rough past. Their early sound was really rough and unapologetic, and most people got afraid just by hearing their name.
Then in 2015, they released their modern classic, MILITANT MENTALITET (Militant Mentality). This album might be best album of every single album mentioned in this thread. It contains every single good element about MellemFingaMuzik and is a real game changer in danish hip hop. It has 6 features from Gilli - including A.P. MØLLER (A.P. Møller is legendary danish business and billionaire who founded MAERSK) and COCAINA (Spanish for cocaine). It marks the official beginning of Molo, since Benny Jamz is also featured a couple of times on this album.
After the success of MILITANT MENTALITET, MellemFingaMuzik has been teasing a sequel ever since. Since then, a lot of songs have been leaked and they have also released a couple of singles. In the start of 2019, neither Stepz or Branco had any solo work apart from a couple of features, until they both released their debut solo albums in 2019. Branco has become a very popular solo artist this year, after releasing a banger album in BABA BUSINESS (Baba is dad in turkish iirc) and a bunch of popular singles with Gilli. Stepz' album STEPZOLOGI (Stepzology) also brought a bunch of popularity, but mostly on street plan. Whether a MILITANT MENTALITET II is coming or not is unknown, but it's definitely one of the more anticipated albums in danish hip hop right now.
Pre-MILITANT MENTALITET songs
PEPSI
Was released as a hype track for MellemFingaMuzik, and it's a masterpiece.
A.P. MØLLER (ft. Gilli)
COCAINA (ft. Gilli)
Post-MILITANT MENTALITET songs
JACKPOT (ft. Benny Jamz)
One of the Afrotrap tracks that defined the Afrobeat era in danish hip hop.
AMG
This was the first danish hip hop song with an EDM sound to it. A lot of songs have tried to copy this since AMG was released.
JUNGLE
The latest song they've released under the name MellemFingaMuzik.
Branco - BABA BUSINESS suggested songs
INGEN INTRODUKTION (4x4) (No Introduction)
The album intro that features a video that tells the story of how Branco and his childhood friend nearly died in a shooting in 2018. This episode was what lead Branco to want to release solo music.
RISIKO (Risk)
A song that tells the story about having kids meanwhile living a criminal lifestyle and how that has changed, now that he has made money from music.
EURO (ft. KESI)
Probably the biggest hit on the album, although there were no obvious radio song on this album.
P.S.G. (Penge Styrer Gaden) (Money Rules The Street)
Not on the album, but a song that was leaked and also became a hit. Branco talks about his past on this while simultaneously drops a lot of references to the most dominant French football team - Paris Saint-Germain.
Stepz - STEPZOLOGI suggested songs
Cinco De Mayo
Another EDM track, which has nearly the same flow as AMG.
Rute 141 (Route 141)
btw, Nicki Pooyandeh produced nearly both BABA BUSINESS and STEPZOLOGI himself.
Benny Jamz
Benny Jamz is the last member from Molo to cover. He started mainly as a producer for KESI and Gilli with B.O.C. Nowadays, he nearly dosen't produce anymore. His debut album 10/10, will be released in January, but he has already released some singles from that album.
He released an EP back in 2014 called Brænd System (Burn The System), which contains a lot of hate to the establishment in the lyrics. He released it under the name Høyer Øje (which either means Higher Eye or Right Eye). Brænd System didn't get the same success as the other Molo members projects did back then, however Benny has made a lot of progress since then. When Molo started releasing music together, he went back to Benny Jamz, and since then has made a lot of singles.
Benny Jamz suggestions
Tjep (ft. KESI) (Tjep is an old danish term for quick)
Spark (Kick)
A track that mostly is about weed, since Benny Jamz has always been a heavy weed smoker.
Uhh (ft. Branco & KESI) - This songs is a fucking banger!
Balou - also a fucking Banger!
Sivas
Even though Molo and KESI are the biggest acts in danish hip hop nowadays, Sivas is probably the most important rapper to this generation of rappers. His debut EP from 2013, d.a.u.d.a., was what kicked this whole generation of rappers off and pushed them into the mainstream. Along with the EP, an app was released that explained the lyrics to every song and translated every single foreign word. Because these rappers use foreign words in nearly every single song and has somewhat changed the danish language. Sivas even won an award for this. He also helped bridge the cultural between ethnic danish people and people hailing from elsewhere. Therefore, Sivas has a lot of respect in the danish game, and he is also a regular feature on Molo members songs. He has with the years became a better lyricist with every single release, and he was probably the only one releasing albums in the singles era.
Other than that, Sivas has always been using autotune in his music and he is very good at it. Nearly all of his music have been produced by his childhood friend,Reza, who also has produced a lot of Gilli and MellemFingaMuzik's early material. Nowadays, he nearly only produces for Sivas, but they still continue to elevate his autotune sound.
Suggested Sivas songs:
d.a.u.d.a. (ft. Gilli) - this song was what kicked all of these into mainstream nearly at the same time. Has a killer feature from Gilli.
Kbhavana (Copenhagen + Havana)
Det Gode Liv (The Good Life)
Kun Hinanden (ft. Gilli) (Only Each Other)
Lang Historie Kort (Long Story Short)
Sidste Timer (Last Hours)
4Livet/Capitan (For Life / Captain)
Ingen Skyer Solen Skinner (No Clouds Sun Is Shining)
Ukendt Kunstner (Unknown Artist)
Ukendt Kunstner, was a producer-rapper duo consisting of rapper, Hans Philip, and producer, Jens Ole McCoy. In 2016 they disbanded, after being on a great run of albums. They are different than everybody else here, because they aren't really rapping about the street life, but Hans still reps Nørrebro(one of DK's more tougher neighborhoods). They got together in 2012, back then, Hans Philip was a Grime rapper, riding the grime wave, under the name Skørmand (Crazy Man). Jens Ole we're just a teenager at 16 years old. When they got together, Hans dropped the Skørmand moniker, and started making lyrical rap, which came to display on their mixtapes Hælervarer A & Hælervarer B (Hælervarer = Stolen Goods).
In 2013, their debut album, Neonlys (Neon Lights) was released to great critical reception, with lyrics touching subjects, such as girls, partying, hungover and depression, with a melancholic touch to it. The title track became a big hit. They continued to release great music for a couple of years until they disbanded in 2016.
Jens Ole is probably the most versatile producer in the danish game. He can produce every single type of beat, and the musical landscape were always a level above other rappers' albums. Jens Ole went on to produce albums for Noah Carter and has even released some official soundtracks to movies. Hans didn't make music for a couple of years, until he out of nowhere came with one of the best albums of 2019 - Forevigt (Forever).
Forevigt is a special album. It has no features, nearly no rapping and all of the songs is just Hans singing. He has become a great singer and has transformed himself into somewhat of a danish version of Frank Ocean.
Ukendt Kunstner suggestions:
København (ft. Murro) (Copenhagen)
Hans raps about Copenhagen as if it's a girl over a 16 year old Jens Ole's production.
Betonjunglen (ft. Gilli, Kimbo, Semih Automatisk) (The Concrete Jungle)
Neonlys (Neon Lights)
Langt Væk (Far Away) - MASTERPIECE!
Stein Bagger (ft. Sivas)
Stein Bagger was a dane, who cheated the danish government for millions of money.
Alting / Ingenting (Everything / Nothing)
Gennem Byen (Through The City)
Overleve (Survive) - Outro song on their last album - MASTERPIECE!
Hans Philip - Forevigt suggestions
Siger Ingenting (Saying Nothing)
Dagdrøm [1] (Daydream)
Saa Blaa (So Blue)
Noah Carter
Noah Carter came up with B.O.C early this decade under the name CTK (acronym for CarterTheKid). Around 2011, he went to jail for unknown reasons. In the coming years he would be shoutouted on many songs including d.a.u.d.a. and Betonjunglen. When he got out he released Couch Dreams, and album entirely produced by Jens Ole McCoy and all the songs were in english. The album was met with great reception, however the follow up to Couch Dreams, 2nd Demo, didn't live up to it's expectations though Jens Ole again were all over the production.
Noah Carter suggestions
Come Alive
Do You
Birmingham Freestyle
Wise Up - Great Outro!!
B.O.
No Favors / 5000
Ok, so those are the biggest names in danish hip hop, but here's a few I'll have to talk about for this thread.
Jamaika
Young danish rapper with a slick voice, who croons about life in the ghetto and life of crime. Seems to never stay out of jail sadly. Fun fact: up until this point, he has only released projects on January 1st.
Blodskudt (Blood Money) - Top 5 song in this thread hands down
Problemer Sover Ik (Problems Don't Sleep)
Picasso (ft. Branco)
NODE
Fun rapper who is easily recognizable by his weird voice and big beard. The most Oui, is the most streamed song on Spotify here.
Oui (ft. Sivas & Gilli) (French for yes)
Super Mario
Pakker Bar (Just Packin')
Carmon
Came up along with Jamaika and also has problems with the law. One of the hardest rappers in the game.
Jailhouse (ft. Branco)
Bando
Stadig Original (Still Original)
Fouli

Låt mig låta som en sån där tråkig vuxen;
‘Drug users are just escaping reality’, is usually stated in an accusatory tone, as if there is something wrong with this. But reality, as most people experience it, is generally so ordinary that, in my opinion, there is something wrong if you don’t want to escape it.When the police catch runaway prisoners they never say to them, ‘Oh, you’re just trying to escape prison’. It is expected that you’d flee if you got the chance. But if you take drugs or indulge in any other activity to ‘escape reality’ everybody gets upset. I believe it is our duty to escape reality and seek an extraordinary life. How we do this should be the issue, not why. (...) It’s not actually the drugs you want, it’s the way they make you feel. Heightened sensory perception, the expansion of consciousness, overwhelmingly powerful feelings of bonding and love, are all experiences of your cosmic self; so what you really want is access to your cosmic self. Once I made this connection I added ‘cosmic’ back into my vocabulary, abandoned the idea of neutrality and, scandalously, began working with what drug users got right. Instead of following the old script – quit drugs or alcohol; engage in a daily battle against powerful urges; finally resign yourself to a half-life spent focused on what you got wrong, and what you will never have again – recovery became an opportunity to recapture heightened states and continue the journey of discovery. ‘Find your cosmic self,’became the new recovery goal.
https://livingnow.com.au/why-we-really-do-drugs/

2018.11.05 22:23 Vikingses Manzanita Post: Picture, journal page and newsclipping translated and my theory on how it connects.

The photo and journal page can be found in the cabin on the property.

The photo is of a dark haired man and a blond woman with a baby on her lap. The word uren is written on the back of the photo. Uren translates to unclean or unpure in norwegian. The photo is hidden under one of the floorboards.

If you search the chimney you'll find the Norwegian journal page which reads:

Å leve med denne skylfølelsen
er ikke å leve. Det er en langsom
og smertefull død, det aller
minste jeg fortjener. Jeg hater
å sove, for da er ansiktet deres
det eneste jeg ser, og skrikene
deres det eneste jeg hører.
Fader sier at det var det eneste
alternativet, men han blir mer
bekymret for hver dag som
går. Han vet, vi vet. Måtte
Herren følge oss.

Translated:

To live with this guilt
is not to live. It is a slow
and painful death, the very
least i deserve. I hate
to sleep, for then their faces
is the only thing i see, and their screams
the only thing i hear.
Father says that it was the only
option, but he becomes more
concerned for every passing
day. He knows, we know. May
the Lord be with us.

The norwegian version is somewhat awkwardly written, the way the part about faces and screams is written can be interpreted two ways, Either it's written in formal third person in which case it would mean we're talking about one persons face and screams or R* should have used the plural version of ansikt which would then mean several faces and screams. I've translated feeling pretty confident it's the latter.

When I was in the cabin, I had a younger blond woman and a younger blond man in there with me, they both ran out of the cabin as I collected the journal note from the chimney. The guy yelled "what have I done" and "God forgive us" in norwegian as he ran out the door. I wish I had followed him, but i was too focused on reading the note. Would be cool if someone was able to replicate this and follow him to see where he runs off to.

I went to have a look around in the general area, thinking i might find a grave or something. Found a camp recently ravaged by the skinners instead, roughly between the t-r in tall TRees on the map. Looting the corpses i found the Norwegian Newspaper Scrap, or atleast im 90% sure this is where i found it, it was in my recent tab in the satchel just after i was done looting anyhow.

Norwegian Newspaper Scrap:
Grusomme Drap i Lyngdal.

Translated:
Horrible Murder in Lyngdal.
A man, a woman and a child found beaten and stabbed to death in the forest behind Austad yesterday morning. Rumour has it the man originated from Tangier in French North-Africa, and that the woman was part of a religious group that lived on a farm close to Korshamn. The child was no more than two years old. The rest of the small (religious) group, that according to locals mostly stayed to themselves, have disappeared into thin air, and the police urges anyone who might know the current location of the group to get in touch as soon as possible.

My theory is that the people currently in Manzanita is the religious group referred to in the newspaper scrap and I think they left after murdering the people in the photograph. To me, the fact that the newspaper scrap goes into some detail to underline that the man was african and that the photo has uren written on the back, suggests that the murders where racially motivated, disagreeing with race mixing sorta thing. But there could be a religious motive i guess, kid out of wedlock or what have you. Uren (unclean/unpure) could refer to either or both.
Other little things:

That's all i have so far, i'll update if i come across anything else. I doubt there's too much more to this, but i'd be interested in what you guys think and if anyone can see a link between this and any other locations or events in the game.
If anyone finds or gets some audio recording from the camp then feel free to send it my way and i can translate and transcribe it.
-----------------------
edit: I should have credited the posts by u/cinnamon_stallion and u/ThePhantomDank420 on the topic, i wouldn't have looked around or found the photo and journal on my own.

u/dobby_rams found the newspaper scrap after killing and looting the guy in the cabin. I know i didn't kill anyone in camp to find mine, so unsure what causes it to drop. It might be that the game wants you to find it when you're in that area or after you've found the journal page.

I looked up Tangier real quick. It's a city in Morocco that sits on the Strait of Gibraltar. Due to it's location it's been central to trade, transport and relations between North-Africa/Africa and Europe for centuries. Historically it's been a melting pot of all cultures and religions in the Mediterranean area. On the basis of this its difficult to infer the mans race, culture or religion, except he's most likely not Lutheran-protestant which was the big fad in Norway at the time. This might weaken the racial motive somewhat. A fun little connection though; Tangier is sister cities with a place called Saint-Denis, a french colony in the Indian ocean.

https://theintercept.com/document/2018/03/01/nsa-intelligence-relationship-with-norway-april-2013/
https://theintercept.com/drone-papers/a-visual-glossary
U.S. intelligence agencies hunt people primarily on the basis of their cellphones.
most drone strikes are aimed at phones. The SIM card provides a person’s location—when turned on, a phone can become a deadly proxy for the individual being hunted.
Mer info her, her og her
https://www.nrk.no/dokumentaxl/antennene-som-samler-inn-data-om-norske-borgere-1.13881286
Plager droner-angrepene amerikanerne?
Nei.
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/world/asia/drone-strikes-reveal-uncomfortable-truth-us-is-often-unsure-about-who-will-die.html
labeling the dead as “enemies” until proven otherwise is commonplace
https://theintercept.com/drone-papers/manhunting-in-the-hindu-kush/
Immediately after the strike, anonymous U.S. officials asserted that the younger Awlaki was connected to al Qaeda and was 21 years old. After the family produced his birth certificate, the U.S. changed its position [] calling the killing of the teenager an “outrageous mistake.
https://theintercept.com/drone-papers/find-fix-finish/
6 september 2013: En varebil blir sprengt av droner i Kunar provinsen. ISAF melder at 10 opprørere ble drept, ingen sivile.
Coalition officials confirmed the strike, which they said had killed 10 insurgents.
https://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/09/world/asia/two-deadly-attacks-in-afghanistan.html
After multiple meetings in which UNAMA called for a review of the incident, ISAF confirmed two civilian deaths “one female and one child” and “would not rule out the possibility of another woman’s death
https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2014-02-08/civilian-drone-deaths-triple-in-afghanistan-un-agency-finds
6 juli 2008, Nangarhar provinsen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haska_Meyna_wedding_party_airstrike
Mønsteret ser ikke ut til å avta. Et ferskt eksempel fra november 2017:
U.S. military says no civilians killed in August Somalia raid
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-somalia-attacks/u-s-military-says-no-civilians-killed-in-august-somalia-raid-idUSKBN1DU0JW
Strong evidence US special forces massacred civilians in Somalia
https://www.thedailybeast.com/strong-evidence-that-us-special-operations-forces-massacred-civilians-in-somalia
https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2014-02-08/civilian-drone-deaths-triple-in-afghanistan-un-agency-finds
the first [drone] missile struck the compound in Hesokhel before dawn, killing three militants, security officials said. A second missile then killed 12 more militants who had arrived at the scene
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-18320431
The death toll rose from nine to 20 as people who had gathered at the site after the first strike were hit in the second
https://edition.cnn.com/2012/07/06/world/asia/pakistan-drone-attack/index.html
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/8695679/168-children-killed-in-drone-strikes-in-Pakistan-since-start-of-campaign.html
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2013/10/drone-attacks-at-funerals-of-people-killed-in-drone-strikes/280821/
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jun/03/american-drones-kill-12-pakistan?newsfeed=true
https://www.icc-cpi.int/nrdonlyres/ea9aeff7-5752-4f84-be94-0a655eb30e16/0/rome_statute_english.pdf
Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians [] which would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated

2016.01.25 16:34 Yohanen The story of a Swede, the outsiders' perspective.

I started writing this in October 2015 when the immigration was at its largest. Thought I'd might share.
I grew up with low socio-economical surroundings in Sweden and as such I grew up with an array of different cultures. I've been mostly influenced by south-east Asian and middle-eastern cultures. I don't think it's out of reach to claim that I haven't integrated into the Swedish culture. If it is abstract, I'll explain; I didn't experience midsummers' eve until I was 15. I still haven't been to a kräftskiva and don't think I will ever smell surströmming. If you'd ask any person who interacted with me during my early school years they would describe me as a child with multitude of problems. For 1.5 years I was tutored with my own teacher. I took the usual route of such a child. Alcohol, Cannabis, tobacco and earlier versions of spice mostly. I somehow managed to stay away from the harder drugs. Others were not so fortunate.
I grew up with a mentally wounded mother and an alcoholic father. They separated when I was six. My parents weren't intentionally bad, they had hearts of gold and I truly love them immensely. They were just dealing the hands they were given. They simply didn't know how to work with them. They both had wellpaying jobs but just laughable bad with money. They managed to land us with millions in debt just before I was born. This debt followed me through life and would remind itself at every corner. This would change when my father managed to get a job as a freelance engineer. He would spend most of his time abroad. He started making the big bucks. Life was grand. If I needed money, all I had to do was ask. I remember asking my father for 10.000:-, as I needed spare parts because my brother had utterly destroyed my 4 month new 30.000:- moped in a fit of rage. This was a source of great comedy in my neighbourhood I was told, as I talked to one of the drug addicts living next door. He too, was a source of comedy when the police arrived to arrest him. He had a very long knife with which he threatened the officers with. The police, somehow, managed to take him down with only pepperspray. Although one of the two arresting officers did pull a gun, I think she hesitated to use it as there were two dozen children surrounding this grand event. This individual also managed to almost kill one of my childhood friends, who had spent a cold winters' eve in his condo. I was with them, but decided to leave when the drug addict pulled a condom from his mouth out of his nose. I got a phonecall that evening from his mother. I was asked if I knew where he was, I told her no, as revealing his delicate position would seriously hinder our alcohol abuse. This did not soothe his mother, as she promptly arrived at my doorstep but one hour later demanding I tell her where he is. As I saw her torment I caved and told her where she would find him. And she did. In a mound of snow passed out, slowly decaying from alcohol poisoning. He survived after having his stomach pumped. I was barely even a teenager at the time. He later went to rehab for a few years, but due to housing shortage he had to stay with the administrator of the rehab center, an immigrant from Bosnia. Who also was a former drug addict. The administrator later relapsed and robbed a jewelry shop, but that's another story. The drug addict later hung himself and my friend is now sober and recently had his first child. My moped would later be stolen, despite the two locks that fastened it to a light pole. Anyway, Life was grand; I travelled, granted it was mostly tourist traps. But it didn't matter, in comparison to those around me, I was a globetrotter. I remember spending a month abroad, where my father worked at the time. It could not not be noticed that my father had a significant other in several different cities. This trip concluded with me also hooking up with a girl and my father paying for the accompanying hotel suite. I have since learned that she dug up the condom and went to work with it. My father wasn't very pleased but I haven't heard of her since. That was the day I learned that if you sleep with an economically deprived foreigner, always flush the condom, regardless of the hosting nations sewage system.

I make jests but the truth is that the subculture now spreading through Sweden’s underclass is raw and incredibly hard in comparison to the one Sweden calls its own. You do not let your guard down, you cannot show weakness for there will always be someone there to take advantage for miniscule gain. You put up a fucking facade; you enter a state that can best be described as clinical depression. You do not take in emotions and you do not process them. You merely act in accordance to the expectations of those around you. And when it boils down to it, you enjoy spreading your vile morals to anyone who touches you. You enjoy having people bend to your will, even if its superficial, as it would be if you forced fear on someone. You will do it for fuck it. You will do it because everyone surrounding you do it. They will do it because fuck it. And do you know why they fuck it? Because they feel they are getting fucked. You might think this is unreasonable of them, and yes, we were unreasonable. But that does not matter when we in our minds were justified. An individual that demonstrates these values cannot be helped, because he does not know he needs it. He doesn't know he needs it because of the perception he has of life, his perception is narrow, and he will not let his guard down to absorb anything else because his surroundings does not allow it. Values as compassion and respect, if not borne out of fear, are dismissed as weakness. I must admit though, a lot of the anger coursing through the veins of our disenfranchised is not at all misplaced. Our immigrants are just as ignored as those who oppose this development, if not more.
I grew up with economically segregated multiculture. I came from a place in life not many get away from and whenever I look back I see a much more brutal reality then the one I left. And it is from my humble beginnings in life I cannot comprehend how Swedish politicians claim a multicultural society as their ideal when it is evident that they do not appreciate that which constitutes a culture. It would seem they think that all there's to it is food, beverages and a different color scheme. And a few oddities to go with that, like that Hispanic culture with the funny hat. But it is more akin to a third eye, in which another perspective is deeply ingrained. The process of converting this perspective is tiresome and harsh. If the individual does not wish to be integrated into the culture he now resides, lacks motivation or the tools to do so he will not be. He would find himself at the bottom without that which with to succeed and he will find scorn within himself for the society that only superficially accepts him. He will be lumped together with people already subdued by this reality and people of questionable morals and he will be influenced. They will form the mindset that defines the underclass of tomorrow, together with the insecurities and psychological wellness that always characterizes the lower strata, regardless of ethnicity. They will be broken by their very surroundings. It is this utter contempt shown to previous generations, who laid the foundation which now crumble without as much as a thought. There are truth to these words, even if those who claim them are labeled national socialists. If you grew up with poor socio-economic standards you can see the connections between generations, the psychological aspect. It follows from father to son, from mother to daughter in endless tirade of personal hell. Pestilence that plagues entire towns and even entire nations. This is the foundation that now crumbles, a psychological foundation on which our society has relied. And one that is incredibly hard to build. It takes centuries to craft; Renaissance, Classicism, Romanticism, Enlightenment and Post-modernism. These all defines us. But not the cultures that have not been exposed to them.

Human nature does not regard political correctness; it can only ever fuel misconception and as such can only further divide society. I'm not speaking of evolutionary difference in race; I'm talking about evolution of culture. And some parts of humanity are further along, this is the reason their accomplishments are greater than others, because their very cultural traits is what is needed to achieve them. This is the reason the Golden era of Islam accomplished far more then medieval Europe. The very same reason religion and ideology holds merit as a tool to unify people in order to achieve greatness. This evolution of culture, that which ultimately defines us, is also the reason empires fall. That progression is not a linear. A society rise and fall with its denizens. Society is defined by the very individuals within it; if they are unwell, psychologically ill, insecure, violent and incompassionate then those are the characteristics that will define us. Cultures, society and the well-being of the individuals within it are very fragile and that can be exceedingly inflicted by minor things. Everything that can will inflict itself onto cultures and the scars and its beauty can be seen for centuries. "Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness..." This was said by Martin Luther King some 50 years ago. He is right and it is a butterfly effect that will multiply exponentially with each generation.
And the truth is, yes, certain cultures have certain traits to them which hold true. Stereotyping them is valid, as is evident when you look at the sub-culture that I was part of. If I'd meet myself, as I was back then, I'd turn around and leave. I was waiting for an opportunity to wreak havoc, literally. I'd physically fight for the gratification of it, the mental push you give yourself in order to overcome any residual woes before you enter the fray. The feeling begins to form in your lower back, it spreads through your spine and reaches your chest where it pumps with every heartbeat till your whole body vibrates of energy. You welcome it, it empowers you. You push yourself over the edge and let it loose in arbitrary rage and adrenaline with no regard of consequence. And there truly are no consequences in that moment; the scars I've gathered were only felt the day after. This is the only time a truly damaged human feels and even this goes numb as time runs by. I was a person filled with anger, misplaced hate and a deep misconception of the world. That was not a person who could be reasoned with.

They say the hardest thing to heal is a broken mind. The generations born from it must then be nigh impossible without extreme societal change. Society as a whole? Forever changed; not linear.

We will move towards factions within society. The factions so far removed from each other they will not be able to find common ground. One of them will be immigrants; they will be disenfranchised, culturally different, economically and linguistically segregated. These groups will have an abyssal void between themself, one they cannot bridge. And then they are forced to interact. This will be the cause of a violent future and all parties will blame the other, no one will be introspective and see that they too hold responsibility for the world they create. This is what is imminent, not the idealist multicultural nation you strive for, and we will be a society that claims values it cannot uphold. You have paved the way for the racism you claim to be so vehemently against. If you argue this development you're instantly demoralized, ridiculed and minusculed by the opposition. You're ostracized and excluded. What happens to that individual that is not allowed to discuss his opinions with people whose opinion differs from his? That person will not change, in any capacity. This person will confirm his beliefs in other manners. And he will be further removed from your values then he would have been, had you tried to talk to him, had you attempted understanding. Instead another route was chosen, you choose to make him a dissident at such a primordial level that the dissonance between you resonates through all of society. You are not allowed to gather opinion in the same manner as your opposition. This does not hold democratic values, in any way. It is dumbfounding ironic, that those who claim moral high ground, that those who claim to hold democratic values at their heart are the ones who seem blind to them. My personal favorite way they diminish their opposition is by claiming that they are lowly educated, as if that removes the experiences that concluded the opinion; as if that was a valid reason to thoroughly ignore someone. It leaves a bitter taste. They say that Sweden does not have an inherent culture, to the degree that all benevolent forces come from the outside. This is intellectual dishonesty you are preaching to each other. Sweden has taken in a lot of influences from the outside, yes. Sweden has integrated other ethnicities into their very genes, yes. All this from the very day the first proto-Germanics landed on the Scandinavian Peninsula. Since the very first day the Indo-Europeans reached the continent. We have absorbed others into our midst and we are greater from it, yes. We are what we are because of it, yes. But the argument is null because history also shows us that when cultures exchange values it is more often than not a violent process.

This paradox; the inconsistency that is somehow allowed to prevail in society. It shows something truly putrid within the backbone of our society. The cognitive dissonance and the selective perception of different societal forces that seems to become greater in stupidity with each passing moment. There is an established rule, so intricately woven over the past decades that it could ruin the whole nation. It does not matter who first starting weaving, the problem is that society lets it continue. We've all been woven into this intricate net, from the lowly welfare-recipient to the highest politician. The dissidents are right. Yes, the immigration is proper economic betrayal. Yes, it will change Sweden in dramatic ways. But is any of it rooted in ethnicity? Yes, but not from the concept itself but from fear of it. And the irony of the century is that the net I've described, the dissonance, is also the one that ultimately led to the holocaust. It is now orchestrating this madness under the guise of protecting the world from it. The dissident of previous decades does not share values with the dissident of today, yet both groups are bound by their respective authority. The implications of what was caused removed, it shares the same rotten essence. The very same noxious core you find in cults. The notion of low fertility rates and an ageing population is what started this and then the anti-racism sentiment caught hold, due to actual racism in previous decades. And then the net kept on weaving, until we were all stuck in it.

Below are quotes from Mona Sahlin and Fredrik Reinfeldt, in that order. I'm not going to cite sources nor name their context. Hopefully a commentator could shine light on that.
I have often gotten that question but I cannot think of what Swedish culture is. I think that is a bit of what makes Swedes so jealous on immigration groups. You have a culture, an identity, a history, something that binds you together. And what do we have? We have midsummers' eve and such "stupid" things. (My comment: "Töntig" is equal to stupid, with an emphasis on being somewhat nerdy and, in this instance, a slightly ridiculous notion.)
Sweden is the country in Europe that takes in the most refugees. We have done this with our heads held high despite the problems being great. Should we close the border and say: "We have had a little trouble integrating so that is why you cannot come here and get protection now"?
Do you know what the new meaning of the term "exchange of views" is? It is that you walk in to Göran Persson (His office insinuated) with an opinion and walks out with his.

You are the very epitome of what has befallen our nation. You have no place in the corridor from which power stems because you do not think and you know it. Your very presence show that something is corrupted within the Social Democrats.

Ursvenskt är rena barbariet. Resten av utvecklingen har kommit utifrån.
Pure swedish is nothing but barbarian. All advancements came from the outside.
I am fully aware about my European homework and history - That nationalism is the poison that more then anything have poisoned this continent.
This nation has this spring and summer had 200 years of peace. I have travelled around schools in Sweden and asked: Against whom did Sweden war with the last time? And they all giggle cause they can barely think of it, and you tell them it is Norway. Then this happens: Oh, Norway, like sometimes they are a bit irritating but... Do you understand how wonderful it is to live in a country where we giggle at the last war we fought against our neighbors. How many do you think have it like this in the world?
It is only that I cannot win that debate - Unless he arrives drunk and starts to fight in the studio. As long as he says something coherent, he will have surprised (My comment: Surprised the Swedish people.)
The Swedish Democrats shall not have an unnecessary amount of space in media where they constantly made theoretically interesting. There is a risk it could lead to the voter acting smart rather than choosing from the already established parties.

Sigh

I once had a supervisor blatantly lie in my face about my salary and I was completely baffled when he asked "Why don't you trust me?", as if trust for random people is something inherent within us all. Granted, I'm young and he probably presumed I was naive. This is inconsistent with what I've gathered from life, yet it speaks volumes. Basic trust for one another is a cultural aspect of Sweden. When Fredrik Reinfeldt wrote the book "Det sovande folket" 1993, Translated: "The Sleeping Poeple", he wrote: "Svenskarna är mentalt handikappade och indoktrinerade att tro att politiker kan skapa och garantera välfärd". Which means: "The Swedish people are mentally handicapped and indoctrinated to believe that politicians can create and guarantee welfare. He is wrong, that inherent trust or mental retardness as he would describe it, within the Swedish culture is something immensely beautiful and could have been used as a catalyst for great things. But instead it was abused and will be forever lost. And I doubt we'll ever see something of its kind in all of human history. It took centuries of pacifism and social pressure to achieve. I'd argue that it is he which is mentally handicapped in an emotional capacity when he could not comprehend that. His mental state is further obvious when that which he was part of creating was far removed from empathy and understanding. He's an incredibly intelligent man, no doubt, yet so astonishingly stupid that he would allow himself to use the doctrine knowingly.

The working class is asking themselves why they fund this idiocracy. The immigrants bellow; "Suedi kon keff wallah, habibi maddafakker" thinking that Swedes are stupid and corrupt to allow unhindered immigration. And the political lefts are off fighting themselves in some absurd alternate reality. Do you think the Social Democrats will survive this? I do not; they have played into the hands of their political opponents at such a ridiculous level. Open your hearts? No, open your minds.

The ice is now thawing and the wall crumbles. The truth will seep out. I hope, for all our sakes, that they let it flood and finally let people make up their own minds. And to whoever who would call me racist, claim that I lack empathy; I see true human suffering at your very doorstep, the damage which your opinions cause. Whilst you come from sheltered backgrounds filled with love and compassion and you sit at your round conference table, where the man next to you shares your perspective. Do not claim that it is my opinion that stem from ignorance. It is yours who does. I come from the reality which you claim do not exist. I will not allow it any longer. This is not done with ill intent, but intentions are wholly insignificant when that which is caused inflicts agony on others. It should be regarded as such. These are scars that will be seen for generations. And the sheer magnitude of deceit rampant through society, still upheld by those soon restrained, will cause the pendulum of society to swing in the other direction with such incredible force only because you held onto it. And the cycle begins anew, far removed from those ideals that were. Even further removed from empathy and understanding then the last and society will keep running in this mouse wheel, until its very bearings give in. These are the reasons I am against immigration, not because of race, which is the reason you advocate it. You fucking racist.

Is there any rivalry between Inuit Kalaallit? No, some people said inuit is the most peaceful people in world...
I have ancestors from Newfoundland, do they count as Eskimos? Yes, i believe... Link to www.heritage.nf.ca
I thought that inuit were only in canada:$ In russia, alaska, canada and greenland there is many inuit (eskimoes).
Do you speak Danish? Ja, det gør jeg. Yes, i do.
Link to sermitsiaq.ag
Do you drink water? I drink Faxe kondi.
Whats that? Link to www.google.dk
I had this in Denmark. It's really good! It is so good that i can not stop drinking it.
We had an exchange student from greenland in my hometown and what amazed me is that he would not drink water, only milk and coke. It is maybe because of the water-taste in your hometown... In greenland we drink from the tap, because it was amazing taste.
When we take to other countries it taste different from greenlandic water.
Interesting , Water taste does change a lot around the world. Link to answers.yahoo.com Link to answers.yahoo.com
I always pictured eskimos using the internet and they never seemed that inuit. Well, we have Tele-Greenland A/S with bad internet connection.
Woosh. Oh... (in to it) and (inuit). got that.
How many of the 'old ways', or traditional lifestyles do survive amongst the Inuit? Do most people in your community still make a living out of traditional hunting, or is it all with guns and helicopters, or at factory jobs? In greenland we don't hunt from helecopter or snowmobile, because we have rule for hunting. We must not use hakapik (like canadian do). We use sniper guns, but we have quota for hunting. A character in the book The Manchurian Candidate visits an Inuit village that supposedly washes their hair with urine. Is there any truth to that, or is Richard Condon just a jerk? Both, They use urine to get rid of flat lice.
Hey thanks for the quick reply. That's been bugging me for years. But they don't use urine anymore after they became to use mosquito spray. (If you overuse spray, i will not recommend it because of health)

Questions Answers
If you walk around the South Pole in a circle, do you travel back in time since you are crossing the international date line? Jepp, I spent one day running backwards as many rounds as I could manage and now I am two years younger. Cool trick ha ! ?
Jøss, nordmenn her også..
Det er masse nordmen her:) Www.reddit.com/norge. Www.reddit.com/norway. Det er nordmenn overalt.. :)
How did you train for your trip? How does one prepare for such a trip? How do you deal with the isolation? Thank you for doing this AMA! (Hilsen en annen nordmann.) Well..its a result of several long skitrips both in norway and greenland. Have crossed greenland several times, and it was time to lift up the ambitions and do something undone.. The isolation is your friend, if youre good at taking care of yourself and if you dont have any mental issues. If you can enjoy being a solo, you can enjoy a lot here in the world.. The Thing ?? ...hehe no, I dont think so
Did it taste as good as you thought it would? It was basicly amazing...hard to describe really. I mean, It`s hard to describe how hungry you are at this moment..
How many of your fellow polar explorers do you suspect of belonging to the communist party? Well...about zero ...plus minus 100 %
In the translation it said, "What the fuck, Mentos?" Were you surprised, mad, or confused, to see the package of Mentos? No, I was happy... but I just couldn`t realize I had left so much stuff there..
also, what media/mp3 -player? How did it cope with the cold? Being a solo it is very important keeping your self mental busy listening to something educating. I had a lot of history podcasts, french and russian language course, harward lectures of physics, music, audiobooks etc etc.
3 x Ipods and a Samsung Galaxy to watch movies in the evening.
How do you charge the devices? Solar? Yepp, I brough two solar panels... then you charge a interim battery to charge all your devices. It`s quite cool being all independent :)
What did you miss most while crossing the south pole? I didnt focus on what I didnt have, but what I had... thats one of the tricks you need to know in this game
Did you have any (non human) life encounters during your trip? Nope. Nada. Rien. NOt very much other creatures there..
Did you use a Kite to travel with the Help of the wind? - What was the longest distance you covered in 24 hours? - How much weight did you lose? - How heavy was the sledge when you started and when you finished? - What was the worst moment of your the expedition? - I read quite alot about Ranulph Fiennes (Thank you Top Gear) and his expeditions did you ever met him? And thank you for sharing this with us. Good questions here! - nope, not using a kite - I did 56 km in 14 hours on day 74. That was my longest.. - about 23 kg - about 175 kg in sledge, and 10 kg in pulk. Maybe 60 kg at the end - Worst moment, day 6 - lost my termos, drinking bottle, broke a ski on the sledge, fell down a sastrugi, whiteout, 9 km.... shitty day - nope, never met Ranulph. He`s a legend.. but just half the size of Børge ( Ousland)
Can you please add English subtitles to your video? What the fuck are you doing in Antarctica, that too, alone? How many times do you go to Antarctica? Some ask why... but you should definitely ask why not!
Someone translated the text on the videos-site here on reddit
The arctic seems pretty desolate and barren. Nothing but a sea of white in every direction. Did you every get extremely lonely? What would you do to keep yourself from going insane? I have answered that further up, but i think its weird that everyone think you will get crazy if youre spending time on your own.. well, I guess you can, but it`s basically the other way. Sitting here in front of the computer makes me crazy. Living my dreams make me ...live and love it.
Who were you listening to throughout the whole trip? (I'm assuming those are ear buds in your ears?) I can only imagine having a special connection to the band/artist after an adventure like that! Some norwegian artists as Susanne sundfør, Marit Larsen and Ane Brun amongst others. And then of course the magnificant norwegian Intrigue.no. But Pink Floyd, Beatles and Springsteen were all heroes of this trip.
What were the most and least awesome parts about your remarkable journey? The beginning was quite rough..it snowed like hell and the pulk was already 175 kilo heavy.. most of the days I enjoyed being out there, it´s beautyful... and of course , getting back to the coast.. see the mountains..
How old were you when you decided to travel? Do you have a girlfriend? if so, how does she deal with you being away for such extended periods of time? If not, would you bring her along (in case you meet someone in the future, and she wanted to)? I HAD a girlfriend... a fantastic woman. But now.. I am FREE. And she`s still fantastic.
What was the timespan between leaving the supplies and retrieving them? You really had no idea there would be snacks in there? I hoped there would be, but it was almost three months since I left that place. On purpose I didnt write down what candy, for a motivational and surprising factor.
Did you bring any weed or liquor with you? Or any other sort of distraction? No, unfortunately not.. saving weight.
Where do you plan to go next? Hehe...maybe I should haha..that`s a good one.
Do you leave hidden cache's of treats around your home? I am home in norway now..enjoying being home for a while. It`s been a lot of fun... I probably going back to the himalyas this fall.
Where else have you traveled to? How did this trip compare? What's your favorite place you've been in this world? Here are a summary of my trips:
• Verdens lengste skitur – Antarktis 2011/12 (solo) • Las Vegas på langs • Aconcagua (6962 m), guide, 2010 • Broad Peak 2010 ( til 7700 m) • Trans‐Sahara 2010 – Først på tandemsykkel gjennom Sahara.
• Kilimanjaro x 2 (guide) 2008, 2009 • Elbrus (guide), 2009 • Grønlandskryssing (guide) 2009, 2010, 2011 • Mt Everest, 2007 • Safariguideutdanning Sør-Afrika, 2007 • Shishapangma (til 7500 moh), 2006 • Rekonstruksjon Birkebeiner anno 1206, 2006 • Sverige, Finland på tvers (30 d, solo ski), 2005 • Mt Damavand 2004 • Mt Kenya 2004 • Pik Kommunizma (til 7000 moh), 2003 • Nord‐Norge på langs (50 d, solo ski), 2003 • Reportasjeoppdrag til bla Iran, Kroatia, Kenya, Peru, Kirgisistan, Uganda, Etiopia, Rwanda, Kongo, Borneo, Gambia, Sumatra, Borneo, Sør‐Afrika m.fler
Wow, how did you finance all that? Like people are financing a new car... savings and loan:)
Did you go all by yourself, without contact with people for 90 days? I had a satelitte phone and I had to report my position and I called home once in a while.
How did that complete freedom feel? I mean, the fact that you could scream, as loud as you wanted, and just do whatever you felt like doing? Freedom is a state of mind, not a place. But anyway, you have a point... it is a cliche, but it`s hard to describe.. absolute freedom... You feel more alive, more confident, more privileged, more happy....and still melancolic.
Aleksander! What are you thinking of when you're at the South Pole? If you could choose any meal, what would you eat when you're at the South Pole? Hmm... I did´nt freak out when I was at the pole, then I knew I was just halfway.. The meal..I don`t know, you get so rational..I think it would be the norwegian "ribbe" ( ribs) that we make for christmas. With aqua vita :)
Fellow Norwegian here. Love the video. Joy in its purest form. Planning any other trips? How long had it been since you left the cache until the time of the video? Thank you. It was almost three months actually, it was the first cache, just 30 km from the start. It took me five days to get there on the way in though...
Being by yourself for that long, what did you do to keep entertained? Did you ever hear something outside of your tent and secretly wish or think it was another person? Did you ever run into anybody else trekking? I was the first in and last out this season, so I didn`t meet very many... But on my way back I ran into some people still going in, among them Cas & Jonesy from Australia and Mark woodl from britain.
I'm moving to Norway from the UK soon. Can we be friends? Believe it or not, I am not very found of candy. I am usually on a superfood diet.
EDIT: Also what's your favourite Norwegian candy? Mandelstang is my favourite. Welcome to norway!! You will love it !
How can I get into what you do? Depends on what you already do... but start with living YOUR dream.. while you can.
What made you desire to do this? If one wanted to do this what steps you that person have to take to be able to do this? (the trek i mean.) You need quite much experience from cold climates..for sure. That´s the easy part for me, as a norwegian. Then you should prepare your self with at least one greenland crossing ( 550 km, approx 20 days) This trip is four times that distance..
How often did you have your skin exposed? It didn't look like it was chapped or damaged in anyway to me, and I'd think it would be. I covered myself quite much into the wind...but you dont have to look like a crater if you are on an expedition. Its about taking care of your self
Sorry about being an ignorant American, but what language are you speaking/where are you from? Because that language sounds cool as fuck haha. Hehe...it s norwegian.
What's your occupation? How to you afford this? I work with adventures fulltime, and done it for years. This was my savings.. just prioritizing
How does it feel to sleep out there?! And do you need to sleep a certain amount of time? It`s light all night long, so I was surprised how little I slept. But after hard work 10 hrs a day hauling a pulk, you definitely need some sleep..
Whats the flight to Antarctica like? Where do you fly in to and out of when making the trip? I couldn't imagine the plane being very large, as there can't be many people heading that way. You fly in from Chile or South Africa. Its cool..you fly an Ukrainian aircraft Il - 76 and you land on the ice. Then you fly twin otter around on the continent..
Way to go, man. This video alone makes me want to give it a shot. I'll start by doing some hiking this summer, work my way up from there. Any beginners tips on survival/setting particular goals? Find yourself good mentors, get some books, and join a guided expedition to get experience. Otherwise I would say - GO FOR IT !!!! :)
Great accomplishment! I think the mental challenge that goes with this type of expedition is as great or greater than the physical. What's your next plan? Do you have any other expeditions that you hope to do in the near future? Well.. the list is long, but its different projects.. I like learning about the jungle, desert and so on.. no tickets booked yet
How much time does it take to prepare for such things? Must this be a life choice, or can it be a hobby on top of your normal life? You dont have to perform extraordinary to do such things, but you need to be dedicated.. I will keep you more videos later, but I found this the real funny one.
Your facebook profile pic. Where is that? It is actually from the danakil dessert in Ethiopia....one of the most extraordinary places on earth!
Just googled that. Danakil desert- cruelest place on earth! I am so jealous right now. How did you even go there? It doesn't look anything like earth! I tell you again...its fantastic. Like another planet. Go there. Just go. It is as simple as that.
2270 km.
What was the most challenging part of the trip? Did you ever have a "what the fuck am I doing out here" moment? Pretty much every day when the weather was so shitty... haha.. the most challenging about this expedition was to decide to try to do it. The chances for failure are huge... but when you are there - it`s nothing like it.
Seriously, how did you forget about the candy? If that had been me I would constantly think about how brilliant it would be to come back there to all that candy. Fruktnøtt er forøvrig kongen av sjokkis! First, its been almost three months since I left this cache behind. And on purpose I didnt write down what goodies I left behind, for a motivational and surprising cause... And I had 6 caches, so I didnt actually had a clue about this one.
Was it cold ever? Not so cold...I was lucky, but never had colder than - 30 . But it is the wind that makes it cold.
Any plans on keeping or regrowing that beard? Fortunately not... I dont have very much of a beard haha.
What happened to your hair? Did you have to shave it when you returned? Fortunately not....managed to sort out one dread at a time in the shower..
Can you tell us about your gear? Helsport tent and sleepingbag, Åsnes skis, Norrøna shell, Fjellpulken pulk, Alfa boots..
Did you leave anything cool there, like maybe a picture of yourself or family? Or some kind of "treasure" for someone else to find? Did you see any earth or was it all snow and ice? Some mountains at the coast, and at the pole there is a huge f.... research base messing up the whole thing. Didn`t stay there for long..
In a previous post it says you "work with adventures full time." I'm not sure if I follow you, but it sounds EXCELLENT! What does it take to do this as a profession? Well.. I do writing, lectures, guiding, photo and consulting with my main sponsors etc.
Have you thought about selling the advertising rights of this video to the company that makes cheese doodle? Yeh....I contacted the norwegian marketing manager. They didn`t want to give me a single bag og cheez doodles for it..
Watching your video made my day! Thanks! The response have been overwhelming
Especially if your anus is a constant source of headaches.. You guys rock! hahah.
Sharpens pitchfork* Haha.
No question. Just stopping by to say you're awesome. Love you! Just the fact that youre stopping by to tell someone that, shows that youre probably a lot more awesome...
How'd you not go crazy out there by yourself that long. Who says you go crazy being solo ?? It`s like mental healthcare if you manage to enjoy the situation... I go more crazy trying to keep up with this sick society.. :)
OK IF no one else is going to ask what we all are thinking I will. 90 days... How the fuck do you jerk off on the south pole. Haha... what could possibly be so different ?
Vidoen din gjorde en ellers grå dag mye bedre! "It's the little things in life" er vel et uttrykk som passer fint her.
I want to marry a Viking man. Haha...you dont know what youre talking about.
I want you to know that I am physically repulsed whenever I notice you on Reddit. I am impressed....and amazed. Thank you!
You may want to be careful around JuicyGonorrheaNodule. Especially if she is contagious, I mean Danish. Haha... thats cool! Ok, if youre danish I think you know what youre talking about..
Youre awesome! Thank you! I am sure you are too!
When you found the cheez doodles I was so happy. When you found the rest of the snacks I actually started cheering for you. That is that happiest I have ever seen anyone. I hope the trip was as amazing as it seems. Now you made my day! And to realize how amazing this is , you need very good imagination..
Just wanted to say, your video made my day. :) I am happy to hear that!
I got the blowtorch and a coat hanger, you guys hold him down and take a blood sample. Haha.
You fly in from Chile or South Africa. Its cool..you fly an Ukrainian aircraft Il - 76 and you land on the ice. Then you fly twin otter around on the continent.. The plane actually takes 60 people..there is tourism in Antarctica as well !
